Hi Everyone!
It’s July 5!
Only 6 days til Publication Day!!!
That’s less than a week!
(I’m just a teensy bit excited… can you tell?! 🙂 )
To keep myself from bouncing off the ceiling, I’ve got something fun to share with you today . . .
When your books go on a blog tour, you’re going to need a little entertainment! After all, there’s only so much “Are we there yet?” you want to endure!
To keep boredom from creeping in on the long trip, you can take side tours to the wonderful sites listed below and visit with the locals 🙂 You might even learn something fun while you’re there! If you comment on every post, you will definitely earn yourself a chance toward the Special Prize Raffle at the end of the tour! (The goody bag and signed books described on the kickoff post.) And if you share this, or any related post, item, photo, etc. on Social Media with the #whenyourbooks, each share will add to your chances to win Special Prize #2 at the end of the tour! (3 $25 Amazon gift cards up for grabs!)
7/1/17 – Susanna Leonard Hill – Blog Tour Kickoff
7/2/17 – Lauri Fortinos’s Frog On A Blog – Guest Post on Writing A Series PLUS a Giveaway!
7/3/17 – Jena Benton’s Of Tea And Mermaids Blog – Simply 7 Interviews with Susanna & Daniel PLUS a Giveaway!
7/4/17 – Lynn Davidson’s Polilla Writes Blog – LION book review and GAME
After the visits, you’ll probably need a snack! I always recommend a midmorning break for some sustaining chocolate, so help yourself!

After that delicious and extremely healthful pick-me-up, you’ll probably want to watch a video!
So check out the World Premiere of the WHEN YOUR LION NEEDS A BATH Book Trailer! (And if you like it, give it a thumbs up! 🙂 )
Once the video is over, you’ll probably want to watch it again.
And again. . .
. . . and again . . . 🙂
But eventually you’ll want to try something new. And boy do I have something fun! A whole pack of LION activities! Coloring! A maze! A matching game! More coloring!
Here’s a sneak peek!

Adorable! Mom gave it a thumbs up and I give it 4 paws up. …..that could be because I’m fast asleep right now with my paws in the air, but whatever. Yay! We love that lion and that boy.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Wow! Thumbs up and paws up? It doesn’t get better than that! Thanks, Cupcake, and mom, and have a nice nap 🙂
What a fun new book, Susanna. It looks fun! The trailer certainly is. Well done!
Thank you, Norah! SO kind of you! I am not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree when it comes to technology, so I’m glad you liked the trailer! Now, to do one for ELEPHANT!
Oh yes!
So fun!
Thanks, Marla! 🙂
Super cute trailer!
I’m so glad you like it, Cathy! 🙂
Great activities! We couldn’t be more excited. Can’t wait!
Thanks, Joanne! Now, if only I could get the classroom guide together… but all in good time!
That trailer made me want to go watch all my favorite childhood cartoons. The book looks great and the activities will be a hit too. (Once I am finished with them.)
I’m so glad you like everything! That makes my day – and will make Daniel’s too, I know! 🙂
Yeah for book birthdays & blog tours!
Yes, Patricia! All we need it cake! 🙂

Aw, thanks, Buffy!!! 🙂
I LOVE this trailer! I am so excited to read the book!
So glad! Yay! 🙂
Thanks for the lesson on setting up a Blog Tour. Brilliant. Obviously a lot of work, but one thing about picture books, you have 2 years to plan it!
Hahaha! So true! But you’re assuming I’m organized enough to plan ahead 🙂 I’m afraid I’m an eleventh hour kind of gal! 🙂
Fun. Fun. And more fun! That’s what I like! Congrats on the release!
Thanks so much, Donna! *I* am certainly having fun – I hope everyone else is too! 🙂
Great trailer, Susanna! The kids will love your maze and coloring page, too. I’m having such fun following your blog tour!!
Thanks, Teri! 🙂 I so appreciate you following along!
Color sheets, mazes and trailers, oh my! Thanks for sharing all these wonderful nuggets of wisdom.
My pleasure! Thank you for following along so enthusiastically! 🙂
I am LOVING all the blog stops! And now I can have chocolate breakfast cookies????? Best day ever! Plan on making those this week and enjoy them while I work on my “homework”. Heck, I might even color the lion myself 🙂
See, these are the benefits of hanging out at my place, Debbie! There is always plenty of chocolate and high jinx and shenanigans around here! 🙂
Such a busy Blog Tour for the month of July, Susanna. It’s time to celebrate.
I first viewed the trailer on Instagram. Watching it again, makes me excited to read your new series.

Thanks, Sue! I am enjoying it more than I can tell you – I feel so lucky!
Your excitement is bubbling over and getting me excited about doing more writing myself. I am thrilled for you. Three books! The trailer is adorable.
Thanks so much, David! You’re so very kind! And I hope you’ll do more writing yourself – you are so good at it!
My mistake… three books coming out in one month! I forgot about the third one. Wowsers! Congratulations again, Susanna!

It’s the absolute best kind of busy *I* can think of! 🙂 You’re going to be in the same boat pretty soon!!! Glad you like the trailer 🙂
Oh, I love that kinda busy, too. And I can’t think of anyone I would rather see so happily busy.
Aw, shucks! You’re so sweet, Mike! 🙂 I am so looking forward to your books and your chance to do the hoopla! 🙂
Woohoo! And you’re off and running! LOVE the book trailer! Gave it a big thumbs up!
Oh, thank you SO MUCH, Jilanne!!! 🙂
I tell ya, me and this comment section have issues, but I’ve gathered that the issue is on my end and I need to figure some things out.
Anywho, lurking and seeing all the great things you have going on has been fantastic. I really enjoyed the book trailer and wish you huge success with your releases 🙂
Aw, thanks, Angela! I’m sorry my comment section is so ornery for you! I appreciate your continued attempts! I guess my next book as to be WHEN YOUR CHIPMUNK… any ideas? 🙂
Susanna you have the best events EVER!! I love the way you’re introducing your books. Okay, so besides the summer camp, I also do my literacy and music program, and my cooking with literacy. So I’m thinking these chocolate cookies have to be on the menu before camp is over. I cannot, CANNOT wait to share your new stories with my early learners. I am glad I finally get a chance to visit all of the stops on this blog tour To say I am proud of you is not enough. This is wonderful. And the way you share news is fabulous. Oh I said that already didn’t I. Well, I mean it. Okay, on to visit the other blogs. Woo Hoooo! .
Thanks so much, Pam, for everything! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the tour. I hope you like the cookies 🙂 and you’re so sweet to be excited about sharing my books with your early learners. I SO hope they will like them! Thanks so much for your kindness and support! ❤
I just finished watching the trailer–I love it too! The music is purrfect! Thanks for the recipe too. I have it up and put the ingredients on my grocery list.
Thanks, Danielle! I’m so glad you like it! I’ve just finished the ELEPHANT one and am suffering anxieties over whether it’s good enough…! I think I should put you in charge of testing all the recipes that show up on the tour since you seem like someone who likes to cook! 🙂
Glad you are having such a happy and successful blog hop tour. Love the book trailer — well done!
Thanks so much, Pat! You are sweet to follow along and I’m so glad you like the trailer!
That trailer is like Major Motion Picture quality!!! Loved it!
