Well folks, it’s Friday, and for me today’s Perfect Picture Book is called Me And My Sister 🙂
Not technically a book…
…but I’ll supply some pictures…
…and it is perfect even though there seems to be a great deal of tomfoolery involved 🙂
Allow me to introduce my partner in crime – the one lying on the floor – trouble if I ever saw it 🙂

Mischievous Grin and New Sidekick

Up To No Good and Definitely Up To No Good!

Miss Innocence and I’ve Got A Dastardly Plan
And even now…
I think it is clear that as a pair we are nothing but monkey business and cannot be trusted to get any work done! 🙂
She is leaving tomorrow – no visit is ever long enough 😦 – but we had a good time even though I didn’t write up a Perfect Picture Book and am now behind on my critiques.  No doubt about it – a visit with my sister is well worth the grind of a weekend of catching up on work!
Tonight we will be joined by our brothers to celebrate my dad’s 90th birthday which is still 2 weeks away, but this was the only day we could all be in the same place at the same time, so you can bet there will be plenty of cake around here!
For the rest of you who are actually doing what you’re supposed to be doing… 🙂
…you can find the complete list of books with resources at Perfect Picture Books.
PPBF folks, please add your titles and post-specific links (and any other info you feel like filling out 🙂 ) to the form below so we can all come see what fabulous picture books you’ve chosen to share this week!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!! 🙂
Aww.. the pictures of you and your sister are so cute. Hope you have a wonderful enjoyable Birthday Party for your dad. So great when all the family can get together.
Thanks so much, Diane! It really is wonderful when we all get together!
These pictures make my heart happy; I have a few just like them with my sister. And you’re right, never a long enough time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful mischief and memories with us.
There’s something special about these old photos, Barbara – a lot of it is the memories of childhood they evoke, but sometimes I feel like they’re more precious because back then we had so many fewer photos!
I think this IS a perfect picture book – still to be written. What precious photos & great PB material. Happy birthday to your father & happy family get-together to all of you!
Patricia, there is no doubt a picture book in the time I was bending over my baby carriage and my sister, mad that I had the baby doll, bit me in the behind! I was 3 and she was 1. When my dad came home I rushed to tell him what she’d done, certain of sympathy. I hiked up my nightgown, tugged my undies aside and showed him… and he had the effrontery to laugh! I was deeply injured – expecting sympathy and getting laughed at instead! 🙂
Sisters… Sisters… There were never such devoted sisters.

I am SO familiar with that song, Katie! I love it! And I was thinking of it while writing this post! Great minds… 🙂
It’s great to hear about some quality time spent with your sister! I hope the birthday celebration is even better! Happy birthday to your dad (now in the nonagenarian club with my dad!).
We had a great time! My sister-in-law found these candles that kind of hook together, so you light one and the whole bunch goes up? So we had 90 of those, plus one to grow on, and it was QUITE the conflagration! 🙂
What great pictures and marvelous relationship. I am glad you have each other and have been able to spend this time together!! Happy birthday to Dad!!
I’ve always wanted to have a sister instead of the two pesky older brothers I have. Ah well, I just have to live vicariously, reading about others’ fabulous sister relationships! And I agree with Patricia. This is a picture book waiting to be written. Cheers!
Happy family times. How wonderful and important! xoxo
Enjoy your visit! Fun times!
I love your pictures-waiting-for-a-book. Clearly you’ve got some interesting characters! And I’m sure there were plenty of adventures. Could be a series…
Happy Birthday to your dad! Enjoy the cake and family time!
Time with family is more important than anything else! Love seeing those pictures of you as a little girl, with your sister. 🙂
I just wrote a new picture book about my sister and me! She is ten years older, and we have always had a special relationship. When I read your blog, I was like WOW!!
Glad you enjoyed her!!
Such sweet photos. Sisters are special. I am six years older than my sister, and was more a mama to her when she was young.
Glad to hear you had a good visit with your sister.
Cute photos!
Those pictures are so much fun, thanks for sharing! How wonderful to be celebrating your dad’s birthday!
Love the photos!
So cute! I’m glad you had so much fun!
