Opening:
“You’re a writer. Did you know?
Ready…
Set…
Come on, let’s go!”
Brief Synopsis: WRITE HERE, WRITE NOW inspires all kids to find joy in writing, no matter what, where, why, when, or how they write. It encourages reluctant writers to tap into their interests while motivating more prolific students to keep doing what they love. Appealing to readers of books like How To Write a Story by Kate Messner and Write! Write! Write! by Amy Ludwig VanDerwater, WRITE HERE, WRITE NOW presents a plethora of ways for kids to play with words while discovering the type of writing that’s “right” for them.

Links To Resources: In addition to the helpful back matter with writing suggestions, here’s a fabulous list of 12 Best Writing Activities: The “Write” Way To Fun (https://www.splashlearn.com/blog/writing-activities-for-kids/) , which encourages kids to try all different ways of writing, from creating a comic, to journaling, to writing a letter to a hero!
Also, check out Rebecca’s other writing-themed book, BRAINSTORM!, illustrated by Kate Kronreif, and published by Sleeping Bear Press, which includes a bunch of writing prompts (“Cloudy With A Chance of Ideas”) in the back matter. Rebecca also has a FREE Brainstorm! Teacher’s guide and activity sheets available on her website. (https://rebeccagardynlevington.com/books/brainstorm/).

Why I Like This Book: This is such a lovely, enlightening, encouraging read for young people. It simultaneously imparts writing tips to help young writers get started, gives an overview of all the different kinds of writing they might like to try, and encourages them to experiment. And the content is just as appropriate for adults who want to write! 😊 Need a little boost on a day when you’re doubting your writing ability or motivation? Read Rebecca’s book! Written in her signature excellent rhyme, it also makes for a delightful read-aloud. The art is lively and engaging – perfectly suited to the motivational tone of the text. Recommended for every book shelf! 😊
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do 😊

It’s terrific, Rose! And I forgot to add (I better go back and do it!) that there is helpful back matter as well!
This book looks like fun. I love creative ways to get myself and kids to think about writing.
It IS fun, Deborah! I hope you get a chance to read it!
I LOVE this book! Reading is not just books. Writing is not just fiction – even sermons count! (Rev Dr Robin Currie, Trinity Episcopal, Wheaton)
That is so absolutely true, Robin! And this book makes that abundantly clear!

Can’t wait to get a look at this one! Wish there had been books like this when I was very young. I loved to read/chill at the library, but I had little to no concept of how it all worked!
Looking forward to getting a copy of this book. Maybe it will inspire me!
Sounds like another winner from Rebecca Gardyn Levington !! 😊
