Perfect Picture Book Friday – Love Is My Favorite Thing

Since this is the last Perfect Picture Book Friday before Valentine’s Day (and the Valentiny Writing Contest! – get to work on your entry if you haven’t yet because there are some great prizes up for grabs!), I thought a book about love (though, full disclosure, not actually a Valentine book) would be appropriate. 😊

And a book about love that is also a book about dogs (which I also love) seemed pretty perfect!

Brief Synopsis: Plum loves everything! She loves everything so much that sometimes she gets a little overexcited and causes trouble…and more trouble! Sometimes she is so bad that she worries that her family won’t love her anymore. But no matter how bad she is, even if they don’t like her actions, they always love her.

Why I Like This Book: There are a lot of rules when you’re little, and kids make mistakes and do things wrong a lot, even when they should know better. Which is why they will love (and relate to) Plummie. Plummie has the best of intentions. She wants to be good. But sometimes the temptation to be bad is irresistible. Or something doesn’t seem bad. . .until it is. Try as she might to be good, Plummie sometimes (okay, often 😊) gets in trouble. Luckily, just like with kids, no matter how naughty Plummie is, her family always loves her. . . even if they don’t always like her actions. This delightful story with its comforting message of unconditional love will reassure young readers that even if they’re not always good they will always be loved. The watercolor and colored pencil illustrations jump off the page with Plum’s exuberance, and it is impossible not to love this loving little dog!

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do 😊

What a good message for kids that no matter how much trouble you get in you are still loved. My grandkids would love this book.

I have a friend with a puppy that looks like Plummie and is always getting into mischief. I’m going to show this book to her! Thanks for the review!
